Woot!  Dallas wins again and is now sitting at 11-1.  Holy moly - good stuff!  Granted, Favre went out early in the 2nd with an injury, and that certainly could have made a huge difference in the outcome of the game (along with having Charles Woodson healthy I’m sure).  But, I’ll take the “W” anyhow, and let them settle things when they meet again in the playoffs.

What the hell was Greenbay thinking when they kicked that fieldgoal?! That pass interference call there at the end was BS too, since that ball wasn’t catchable.

Unfortunately, the only part of the game I was able to watch was that last 15 minutes or so. I’m glad I did though, because I was seeing some impressive throws by both quarterbacks.

I really wish I could have seen it. I had to settle for keeping track of the game on ESPN’s Gamecast which was o.k. Darn NFL Network games hehe.

Let me start by saying that I don’t think Green Bay could of won the game, but the refs definitely ensured they wouldn’t. I normally leave the refs alone, because it is a tough job and gets done correctly 99% of the time. However, I raise issue with this game simply because both calls, the TO “cough up” in the first quarter and the pass interference at the end, were both CALLED CORRECTLY by the referee RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PLAY. In both cases, a referee that had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PLAY overturned the CORRECT CALLS.

Games don’t come down to two or three plays, and good teams win regardless, but it really grinds fans nerves to see referees reverse initial GOOD calls without replays and then not reverse OBVIOUS BAD calls with replay. Pass interference calls need to be re-viewable, because they are just TOO HUGE of a call not to get 100% correct.

I am a diehard Packers fan and I won’t sit here and make excuses. We lost the game, but I don’t think Cowboy fans should be resting easy.

1.A backup quarterback took the standard Green Bay offense and ran up and down the field with it effectively.
    2. Dallas’ offense moved the ball on a defense missing two PRO-BOWL defensive players, KGB and Charles Woodson. Also, other starters were missing from the GB defense.
    3. Al Harris, one of the leagues top cover corners, had probably his worst game ever. Often times he just seemed asleep, letting TO escape or catch balls that were nothing but toss ups. When Harris covered TO and played tough, TO was a non-factor and no double coverage was required. Not to mention the clear interception/fumble in the first quarter that TO coughed up to Harris.
    4. Dallas’ turned an easy blowout into a close game.
    5. If Dallas did not covert on 3rd and a mile, the game most likely ends up a GB win.
    6. Green Bay is a “win on the road” team and has won in plenty of places they were not expected to. Another game in Dallas does not phase them. Reversed, Dallas has almost no chance to win in a late season game up in Green Bay.

Dallas made the plays when needed and won the game, but I can’t believe people are crowning them the top team. A top team would have blown Green Bay away for the mistakes they made.

Regarding the field goal at the end of the game. It is a tough call. Two scores are needed and a failed conversion on 4th is game over. Mason Crosby, GBs kicker, has been brilliant all year. In a dome, with a reliable kicker, it makes sense to go for a field goal.

My only problem with that, is that GB was incapable of stopping the Dallas offense. Knowing this, it made more sense to go for the first down and try to punch it in for a TD. However, if GB’s defense ended up holding, and GB ended up with the ball back on a punt, it was very possible that GB would of been in good position to tie the game up.

Tough call, and IMHO a good choice either way. You have to remember, Green Bay has been winning most of their games on the defensive side of the ball this year. No reason to think it would be different in this game.
